She turned around and walked of to attend to her duties.

That was unexpected...

Derek suddenly didn't feel very hungry anymore.

"Oh man..."

A little while later, Marilyn returned with his water. She set it down in the table.

Despite the rule to ask the general question, 'What would you like to eat?' Marilyn asked something else, influenced by the look on Derek's face.

"Do you want to leave..?"

Derek shakes his head.

"No. I'm fine."

Marilyn began feeling a little awkward.

"Do you want anything to eat?"

"... I want to talk."

Marilyn sighs. She knew there was no avoiding it.

"I get off in about 20 minutes." She said, implying she'd talk then.

She walked off.

Marilyn returned about 25 minutes later. She had her coat on her arm, and her bag on her left shoulder.

"C'mon."

Derek nods standing up, and follows.

Marilyn made her way outside of the restaurant.

"I need to get home so...maybe we can plan to talk some other time or you could just come with me.."

"I have no place else to go, but I don't want to intrude."

She says, walking towards the direction of a bus stop a block or so away.

"I've been okay...just really busy.."

They eventually get to the bus stop.

"Work at the tattoo shop by day...at the restaurant by night..."

She hesitated and sighs.

"...and taking care of my mom in between..."

"You have a lot on your plate, it seems."

As she finished her sentence, the city bus pulled up.

Derek goes onto the bus after the doors open, pulling change from his pocket and putting it into the machine.

"Whatever happened Trevor? Any idea?"
